[Feature Request] Add the ability to ingest a sitemap.
-
Description:
-
Context: When using the Website Auditing Tool on extensive websites, auditors are required to click through the whole page by hand, incurring a lot of manual labor.
-
Uses Cases: Users would greatly benefit from the ability to ingest a sitemap, as it would reduce sources of incomplete audits and would reduce the need for human interaction during the audit. Sitemaps are usually automatically generated on most modern content management systems and are therefore present on most websites.
-
Motivation: When using the Website Auditing Tool on extensive websites, it is easy to lose the overview and miss one or more pages in the analysis of the website. This in turn can compromise the validity and/or integrity of the audit report generated after using the website auditing tool. With this feature, audits could be nearly automated and if this in not possible they could at least be checked against a list of pages taken from the sitemap. It would nicely complement the other features of the Website Auditing Tool, especially the ability to use login prompts and the ability to manually and granularly set the consent.
-
Additional Information: The French cloud provider OVH has created an add-on for the original website evidence collector called website-evidence-collector-batch written in js. Maybe parts of this add-on can be reused here. Where needed I can support with testing this feature, if it were to be implemented.
