Auxiliary load for HVAC
Summary
We have simulated a generic PEV vehicle. We have checked the auxiliary load for a PEV. However, we are not able to derive the same load as mentioned in the vmod. Can you explain what is missing in this derivation?

Hi @n00d47mg,
The HVAC demand is expressed in the mechanical domain (and the consumer is indeed on the mechanical domain), so in order to calculate the HVAC demand in the source (electrical domain) you have to divide the demand by the efficiency. Also in your calculation you are using an efficiency of 0.7, whereas this is something dedicated to alternators and thus including belt mechanical efficiency. For HVAC compressors, the assumption is that there is a direct drive and the efficiency used is 0.8. If you now do this calculation you will find that things work as in the tool.
The above calculation comes in contrast to the calculation for the electrical system included on your snapshot. There the request is also expressed in the mechanical domain but the associated consumer is on the electrical domain, so canceling the need to pass to the mechanical side (since the source is in any case electrical - PEV) we calculate the request by canceling out the initial assumption of 0.7 thus multiplying with the efficiency.
